Our White water sessions are aimed at paddlers who aspire to get on grade 3-4. Here we delve deep into the technical, tactical and physical. These sessions are ran in different locations across the country.

Paddlers who have basic skills that want to move from flat water to moving water, this is the session for you. In detail we look at reading rivers, how to use features, efficiency skills and lots more.

At One 2 One kayak coaching we offer sessions aimed at paddlers starting out and novices that need more intensive coaching to learn basic technique. Give it a go, there’s lots to learn. We base these sessions in Shrewsbury.

We offer indoor pool sessions for paddlers wanting to learn more of the wet aspects of paddling but in warm/clean water. I offer these to individuals or small groups.

We offer a trip too the continent every year for paddlers of grade 3 ability, there are some stunning rivers in France, Slovenia, Austria. It is recommended that a days session is undertaken before any trip.

Matt has been brilliant, from when I started paddling November 2021 he has been instructing me on all aspects of kayaking, helping me with my high-low braces and rolls in the local swimming pool.

Once on the river Matt would spend hours demonstrating and watching what I was doing and offering input to improve my skills.

With Matt's help I was able to get from novice to paddling the upper Tryweryn in 5 months. Brilliant instructor, very knowledgeable and above all very patient.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my white water kayaking and just over a year on, i'm confident on the water thanks to Matt.

Matt took enthusiasm with no kayaking skills, and shaped me into a paddler. His patience and encouragement worked wonders, building confidence all along. I’m now a white water leader myself, and love every minute on the water.

Matt has continued to support my paddling development, with ongoing observations, hints and tips when we paddle together. He will often suggest something to add a little more finesse to core paddling skills.

Matt has good observational skills. His analytical approach to identification of paddling needs is matched with clear communication. I now get more satisfaction from my paddling.

I have been coached by Matthew in the pool for most of the winter, working on my rolling technique and support strokes. Whilst remaining positive and supportive throughout.

He has relentlessly focussed on ironing out my long held bad habits that have been limiting my progress for some time. Just the attention to detail I have needed to develop my skills further.

As a fairly nervous whitewater paddler, I really enjoy paddling with Matthew. Whilst leading on the Dee from Horseshoe Falls to Mile End Mill, he was supportive, encouraging and knowledgeable.

He was never pushy, but provided plenty of time and opportunity to observe, learn and build confidence, before attempting each feature.

From his support and guidance I felt confident enough to successfully paddle Serpents Tail, having portaged around it several times in the past.
